We desperately want to keep our clinic fees low to allow participation by children who may not otherwise be able to afford this relatively expensive sport. Our most immediate need is to cover the annual insurance premium to cover our instructors, LOWSC and LOW Association. Without insurance - we have no program!

LOWSC’s Junior Sailing Program has taken a leap of faith by starting its program following the “if you buy the boats, they will come” model successfully followed by Opti fleets across the country. Including the 6 Optis purchased privately in 2001 by families at Lake of the Woods and made available to the program and the 5 LOWSC members who became US Sailing Level One certified instructors in the fall of 2001, over $11,000 in funds have been spent and $4,000 more in equipment donated by LOWSC members and friends to bring the Junior Program to this point.

We are looking to our surrounding community to help us make this program accessible to children from all economic means. Below is a list of sponsorship opportunities available. Thank you for your time and interest!!

Founding Memberships
Becoming a Founding Member gives you the opportunity to build the Junior Program by paying for start up costs such as instructors, initial program publicity, boat preparation, spare safety gear for students who cannot purchase their own and scholarship funds for students who need help paying for clinics. Your contribution will be gratefully acknowledged on a plaque in Marina Building, on Junior Program Brochures, in press releases and interviews and anywhere else we can thank you for your generosity!

Insurance Sponsorships
Covering our annual insurance premium ($1,500) is the single most important funding goal. By becoming an insurance sponsor, you will guarantee that we can bring the love of sailing to many LOW children!

Insurance Sponsor - $1,500
The Junior Program will gratefully acknowledge your Sponsorship with your name and/or logo on all brochures, flyers and announcements for the 2002 season.

Insurance Co-Sponsor - $500 (3 available)
The Junior Program will gratefully acknowledge your Co-Sponsorship on all brochures, flyers and announcements for the 2002 season.

Junior Program Sustaining Membership - $60
(Adult Sustaining Membership dues help pay the program expenses and keep clinic fees low.)
